One of the biggest stumbling block in life, is the deceiving nature of our own mind. If mind takes certain pleasure by getting attached to a book, worshipping another human being it creates an illusion that you are progressing. Whereas in reality you might be where you are, without moving a step further. Don't take knowledge from another about life, it is something you need to discover on your own. The guru's, sacred books, religions they are just pointers use them wisely. If you get attached to those pointers, those pointers might be people, gurus, eloquent motivational speakers, leaders trust me you are in big trouble.
A mind which is dependent, worshipping can it ever learn?, and is freedom possible without learning?
When you throw some light and try to be aware of this deceptive nature of mind, there is a possibility to go beyond it. How can someone else can do this work for you? Unfortunately people who take certain pleasure in explaining things to others, or some guru who is seeking authority won't tell these things to you. Your psychological dependency on them is their bread and butter. If at all you need help in understanding yourself, go to teachings of pristine and first class teachers. Who actually realized beings, there are many who claim they are realized just by having a glimpse of that eternal state. They are still victims of deceptive nature of their own mind.

Budha, Jesus, Mohammad.... the problem with these teachings is they are ancient. It is hard for us to find what they really mean, by reading their books, or listening to religious authorities.
